Evaluation
When taking pictures for form some of the images I took turned out well and captured what I wanted them to. However, there were some images that I wasn't able to capture the idea of form so well.

I think this image is one of my best images because not only have I captured form well also the focus, lighting and angle is also good. This image captures form because we can clearly see the leaves and their form. I think the angle of the picture is good because if I had gotten any closer to the object the form wouldn't have been that obvious and if I was too far out then other objects may have been included in the image that I wouldn't want. I like this image as I feel like the idea that I was going for has worked and the picture has turned out good.

I think this image is also one of my best images because I think the form has been captured very well. Although the lighting hasn't turned out as I would've hoped I think that with some editing this will become a better picture. The focus and the angle is good in the image. The angle is good because if I had gotten any closer then the image wouldn't have been as clear as this. Also, the focus of this image is good because I spent time on the focus of it. I like this image because it links to me as they are my glasses so I want this picture to turn out good.

I think this image isn't one of my best image because the focus and the angle of the image wasn't very good. In general I think that the idea of the image was good but the photo just didn't turn out how I would've liked it. The image is blurry which affects us seeing the form of the object. Also, the lighting of the image isn't what I wanted because in the images I have taken I was aiming for a big shadow. Next time with this object I will take care of the focus of the image and maybe try to take it a few different times.

Progression

After taking these images I put the best ones into Photoshop and edited to make them even better.

     

To edit this image I made it black and white and sharpened the image too. By editing it this way it makes the form more visible as everything in the image had been sharpened so it all stands out. Also, by making it black and white everything merges into one so it all looks like the same thing. Next time I will progress this image by not making it black and white but using the colours that are already there and maybe brighten it or saturate the colours.

To edit this image I increased the brightness of the image and also sharpened the image. By editing the image in this way it has made it better because the picture is more clearer and form is more visible as the shadow is darker and bolder. To improve this image further I could make it black and white and see if form is shown better than how I have edited it here.

      

To edit this image I have brightened it, increased the saturation and sharpened it. This has made the image better because the shape of the bottle has become more clear and the focus of the bottle has became better. By editing it this way we can also see the water in the bottle more clearly unlike the original image. To improve this image more I think I should maybe take the image at a different angle and more close up to capture the form better. 

      

To edit this image I have brightened it and sharpened it. This has made the image better because the image is more clear so the element of form is more obvious. By editing the image this way it has become better because in the original image nothing is clear and it looks like a poor taken photo but when edited it isn't that bad. Next time to improve this image I will focus on the lighting to make the original image also good.

       

To edit this image I have brightened it, sharpened it and cropped it. This has made the image better because the image is more clear and the lighting appears better. Also, by sharpening the image the shadows become bolder so that the form is captured better. Next time to improve this image better I will make sure that the original image is good as well as the edited one by fixing the lighting better.

Next time if I have to take pictures linked to this topic I will use these improvements to progress the image.

Form Straight Images

I took this image of my phone because it represents form well. The light reflecting on the phone is clear on the left hand side as we can see a line of light. This makes the image 3D because the light almost creates and illusion of the phone becoming 3D as it looks like the left hand side is flat. The shadow created at the bottom of the phone also helps the form of the object because it helps create the 3D effect. I think this image needs to be sharpened and edited to improve it further and make it a better image.

I took this image of a pair of glasses because they represent form. With the light reflecting onto the glasses shadow is created around the glasses to increase the 3D effect. The white background helps with the form because the shadows from the light appear darker to create the 3D effect. I think with some editing in Photoshop this image could turn out better. I think I need to increase the brightness to make the picture seem less dull and more alive but keep the shadows as dark as possible.

I took this image of a water bottle because it represented form well. The shape of the bottle is what attracted me to take pictures of this because I wanted to capture the edges well. I think the fact that there was water in the bottle helped create form because the bottle is heavier and the water helps create form whereas if the bottle was empty it would be obvious, this shows that water helps the form of the bottle become less or more. I think editing this photo by making it sharper and the background black and white this will improve the image.

I took this image of a plant because it represented form well. The leaves of this plant are really visible in this image which helps create form, also the black/darker layer around the leaves of the plant also make it more visible which helps with form. I think by editing this photo I could make it much better by making it black and white and sharpening it.

I took this image of the bus shelter because I thought it represented form really well. This image doesn't look as good but I like it and I think that with editing I can improve it a lot. The foundations of the shelter stood out to me because they were different shapes and created different forms. By brightening the picture I think I could improve it more because we will be able to see the image clearly.

This image links to form because the shell is shown as a 3D image. I can use ideas from this image in my work because I can take picture of things in the natural world which is shown as a 3D image. I think this image shows form really well because the reflection of the shell in water makes it seems more 3D, I would like to incorporate that into my work as I think reflections or shadows work really well in presenting form.

This image links to form because the dice are shown as 3D images. I can use ideas from this image in my work because I can take pictures of things that aren't always what people think of. I think this shows form well because the darkness of the image makes the shadows stand and out and also the fact that the dice are white also makes them stand out more. I would like to incorporate this in my work because I think the darker backgrounds make the 3D of the shapes stand out more.

This image links to form because we can see the 3D shape of the computer keys. I can use this idea in my work by taking picture of keyboards. I think that this shows form very well because the shapes of the keyboard keys can be seen very well. Also. the shadows of the keys can be seen too which creates form even more. I would like to incorporate this idea into my work because I want to capture the full shape of objects.

This image links to form because the 3D image of the banana has ben captured. Also, the shadow that is created also helps link to form because the 3D image is established better. The lighting used in this image also helps it link to form because the brightness in the middle shows helps us focus on the banana and the darkness around the outside makes a shadow on the banana which shows its form. I can use this idea in my work because I can take natural objects like fruit and create shadows with them to show form.

Form Definition

Form is a three dimensional shape, such as a cube, sphere or cone. Sculpture and 3D design are about creating forms. In 2D artworks, tone and perspective can be used to create an illusion of form. 

This image links to form because it shows us a picture of a 3D image which we can establish the shape of the object from. We can tell from this picture that this is 3D from the shadows created. The key thing for form is the light source to create the shadow showing us the object is 3D.

A shape is an area enclosed by a line. It could be just an outline or it could be shaded in. Shapes can be either geometric, like a circle, square or triangle, or irregular.

This image links to shape because there is no light source that shows us that the shapes that we see are not 3D they are just 2D shapes.
