Analysing Pictures

Connotation - an idea or feeling which a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal or primary meaning.

Denotation - the literal or primary meaning of a word, in contrast to the feelings or ideas that the word suggests, the action of indicating or referring to something by means of a word, symbol

This photo is a picture of a person but in the background you can see the nature. Nature and people represent life and happiness. In this image the main focus is in the background and the foreground is not in focus. This could show us that we should look deeper into things and what we always see straight away isn't always the main focus or the main image. The colours in this image are not bright and do not stand out, the main colour focus is grey from the girls jumper and green from the nature in the background. If you look deeper into the photo you can also see brown plants which can represent death, this could show us that around happiness and life there is also death and suffering.
